The Power of Unity and Understanding the Perfect Will of God.
The Even As of Christianity. Part 14.
The Power of Unity and Understanding the Perfect Will of God.
Throughout the entire course of this study the emphasis of the Holy Spirit has been the essential requirement in the life of the believer to have in us and manifesting through us the life of Christ, from the commencement of this study there was this prompting of the Holy Spirit:
“ Almighty God’s desire, purpose and design for the body of Christ on this earth was that the life of Christ could be replicated in redeemed vessels of clay, a life that may be infused and governed by the love of God, a life that may be given up to the full expression of the power of the Holy Spirit, a life that walks in perfect knowledge of being in Christ, and Christ being in the believer.”
In the last teaching the emphasis of the Holy Spirit was the need of the believer to not only abide in the love of God but also to move in the power of this love, a love that knows no limits.
At some point in this study there was the perception of the Holy Spirit to examine the High Priestly prayer of Jesus which is recorded in the gospel of John, I want again to re-examine this prayer of Christ for in this prayer we have the will of God for the believer fully revealed.
I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. "Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them." John 17v23-26.
Almighty God’s desire and design for the church, the body of Christ is that we are not only loved of God but we are to walk in that abounding life giving force of God to demonstrate to the world that Almighty God loves them with a love in which He lavished on Christ, what a message to preach to the world, what a challenge to the heart of the believer, dare we stand up and stand out to boldly testify to the world that Almighty God loves them with the same abounding love in which He loves Christ His Son, and the church which He has purchased with His blood, this love must be seen, this love must be exhibited to the world, but there is a divine order in which this love must be made manifest, the love of God in Christ must be received by the church and ministered to the church, and then through this love in the church, being openly exhibited to the body, there will be the rushing outflow to the world.
I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. John 17v23.
The perfect will of Almighty God must be made evident through the body of Christ, there is the essential requirement of the body of Christ to pull together, to be joined in this union, God with Christ, in and with the body to the world.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Psalms 133v1-3.
Almighty God’s ministry of blessing and renewal to the world must flow through a vessel that is honourable by Him and to Him, all of God’s dealings with the race of man has been through His grace and mercy, man in himself does not earn or merit anything from the hand of God.
The greatest blessing of Almighty God to the whole race of man was wrought in Christ, and the continuation of Almighty God’s dealings with the affairs and well being of man is through Christ and His Holy Spirit infused through the church, the body of Christ in this earth.
The church, the individual life of the believer can replicate the life and influence of Christ into this earth this is the supreme will of God for the existence of the church in this earth, this is the high calling that has been placed on the life of the believer in Christ.
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. James 1v17.
Every believer must understand the divine order in which Almighty God moves and fulfils His will on this earth, this is emphasized by James in his epistle to the church. The origin of all and every blessing and divine benevolence flows from the throne of grace through an ordained and anointed vessel through to the world, every believer must see their life and witness as Almighty God has purposed for them and has equipped them to be.
Some years ago the Holy Spirit laid a great perception on my heart of the enormity of the high call of God to the believer in Christ that of being honoured by Almighty God and empowered to be a carrier of the anointing of the Holy Spirit. In the course of this moving of the Holy Spirit there came to my spirit the importance of the believer to understand the value of being in the right position in Christ, and in being in right fellowship with the body of Christ.
From this opening verse of this Psalm we have the proclamation of the desired will and purpose of Almighty God for the existence of the church in these end times, we have set before us the heart of God revealed, that of the body of Christ being in unity, being in harmony with each other to allow the outpouring of the Holy Spirit through the church into and onto the world.
Almighty God purposed for this, Jesus Christ gave Himself in prayer for this, and the Holy Spirit awaits the coming together of the body to bring the greatest evidence of the love of God in the midst of all men everywhere, in fact the world is waiting for the church to arise to the place of unity in Christ.
that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. John 17v21-23.
In the High Priestly prayer of Christ the unity of the church will result in the world coming into the revealed heart knowledge, the clear revelation of the purpose of Christ coming into this earth, that He came from the heart of God to reveal the fullness, the magnitude of His love for mankind, dare the church embrace and proclaim this message to the world that the love in which Almighty God loves Christ, and loves His body is the same love in both quantity and quality in which He desires to lavishly pour out onto the world.
How many of the church, how many believers have failed to grasp this fact that Almighty God has never given up on the race of man, He desires all men everywhere to come to saving grace in Christ.
And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increases with the increase of God. Colossians 2v19.
The body of Christ is the New Testament Priesthood of believers, the body of Christ has a unique calling of Almighty God and the empowering of the Holy Spirit on it and within it, every believer can operate in a two fold administration or ministries of a king and a priest, we can stand before men for God and before Almighty God for the race of man.
For the effectual ministry of both the king and priesthood of the Old Testament there had to be the ordination of Almighty God, there had to be evident both the approval and the anointing from Almighty God on the earthly vessel that was sanctified for ministry, it must be understood that all the earthly ministries on this earth were representations of Almighty God’s covenant to man and for man.
The plan, purpose and pursuit of God for those who are called and sanctified in Christ is that we be anointed and empowered by the Holy Spirit for effective ministry of the new covenant of grace in this earth.
It is time for the believer to know and walk in revelation knowledge of the importance of the existence of the church, the body of Christ in this earth, Almighty God desires the believer to have this anointing made evident in their lives, this flowing, life giving, abundant power of the abiding of the Holy Spirit in and working through the believer.
From the head to the edge of his garments to the earth, the open manifestation of the outpoured presence and power of the Person of the Holy Spirit is the greatest heart desire of Almighty God for those sanctified in Christ, the greatest witness to the world of the existence of Christ will be made manifest through the believers being in unity, not broken up, not fragmented but as the body functions together in the bond of love and unity the greatest evidence of the abundance of the love of God will be made evident, this is not a pipe dream, this is not fancy thinking, this is the plan, the purpose, the will of God, this is the heart cry of Jesus Christ as He prayed His High Priestly prayer, the Holy Spirit desires to move in the midst of the world, but He first has to move in and on and through the body of believers, there must come the ingathering of the lost, but there must first be the pulling together of the church of the redeemed.
The will of God, the purpose of Christ coming and giving His life blood, the ascension of Christ to the righthand of God, the receiving of the Holy Spirit by Christ and the sending forth of the Holy Spirit into prepared hearts and lives on the day of Pentecost was to bring into this earth a body of believers under the authority of the Lordship of Jesus Christ, washed and made pure and righteous through the blood of the Lamb, sanctified as a dwelling place for the person of the Holy Spirit, and empowered for ministry through the abiding power of the unction of the Holy Spirit to work in unity as a body, as a living testimony, a witness of the grace and mercy to the world, that the world may know and come into this saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as Lord and King.
“that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. "The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.” John 17v21-23.
